I created a 3d print in Bambu studio that will work to cover the white gen 1 Velit 4000P gasoline heater thermostat. As you may know this thermostat screen does not turn off and can be quite annoyingly bright at night. This cover will allow you to close the cover at night to to block the light from the screen but still allows plenty of air to circulate around the thermostat so it can function normally.
This print in place design has built in hinges and prints in one piece. I used white PETG. I would not use PLA as is can soften in the heat in a mobile application. ABS may also be suitable, but PETG provides a balance of durability and print quality. Once printed , remove still slightly warm, trim out any junk in the lettering with a razor knife and then carefully exercise the hinges to loosen them up, without breaking them. Once loosened up, they work great.
My settings were 20% infill and 4 wall loops to add a little bit of durability. Also used tree support only extending from build plate. Make sure to print it upright exactly as it appears. I used clear double sided Gorilla tape to adhere the thin lines of the top and bottom and then to the wall.
Hope this helps some of you other vanlife DIYers.
